FORWARD STUDY CARRIED OUT
A forward study for the development of High Speed passenger corridors in India was presented to the Indian authorities on 28 February 2008. The study was designed to assess the suitability of High Speed services for India and to identify potential corridors offering a high return on investment. The report conclusions show that India meets all the conditions for implementing High Speed Lines.
SALE OF FIRE SIMULATION SOFTWARE
Negociations between Indian Railways and SNCF International for the sale of fire simulations software were successfully completed and the software application has been ordered from SNCF. After extensive simulation, it helps to design passenger carriages which are more resistant to fires.
A new cooperation agreement between SNCF and the Indian Railways was signed on 14 May 2008 at a ceremony attended by French Minister of State for Transport, Dominique Bussereau, and his Indian counterpart. The agreement is part of a more general assistance environment in aeras as extensive as safety, maintenance, signalling, training and new information and telecommunications technologies. This is the second agreement of this type, following the signing of the first in 2004.
